HUNTER COLLEGE – SPRING 2026
This course explores the last 80 years of film history, from 1945 to the present, by highlighting key periods and remarkable films from different parts of the world. We will focus on independent productions made outside the major studios, often as the result of collective and collaborative efforts. Through a range of materials—films, production documents, interviews, and scholarly articles—this course examines the many ways in which cinema and history intersect.
